Ceri Hand Selects

The Hanover Project team, staff and students from Fine Art at UCLan are very happy to announce the opening of  ‘Ceri Hand Selects’ an exhibition of undergraduate students. Ceri has made a selection of visual artwork from an open submission from 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students on the Fine Art and Drawing & Image Making courses at the University of Central Lancashire.

Ceri Hand is an art professional with a wealth of experience in the public and private sector. Her main area of activity at the moment is as an art dealer with a gallery in London where she represents a broad cross section of artists, many of whom operate from cities in the North of England. The Ceri Hand Gallery regularly has a presence at Art Fairs around the world and she has specialist knowledge of current trends and issues within the Contemporary Art world. Ceri has a special link to the North West of England opening her first gallery in Liverpool in 2008. Due to the success of the gallery it relocated to London in 2012. Ceri also has an on-going connection to the Fine Art course here at UCLan, she has twice very generously given talks about her work and has also worked with a selected group of MA students to develop their work through providing critique and consultancy from the point of view of the art market.

The students who have been selected for the show are: Alexandra Florithes, Ann Hampson, James Bamford, Jessica Hayes, Kyle Brown, Matthew Palmer, Megan Cameron, Ruth Tyson and Stephen Moss. This group represent the high standard of work produced by students at UCLan.

All of Ceri’s input to the Fine Art course has been invaluable and we are extremely happy that she has agreed to continue the relationship through acting as the selector for this show. Ceri will be visiting the Courses in the New Year to meet the selected artists and talk to them about their work.
