Hanover Project is very pleased to be hosting the 2014 Degree Show at the University of Central Lancashire. The exhibition is presented throughout the Hanover Building, and is a culmination of three years of hard work, study and development by BA (Hons) Fine Art and BA (Hons) Drawing and Image Making students.
The work presented in this exhibition represents and reflects the dynamic, interdisciplinary and broad-based nature of contemporary art practice.
Some of the works in the show are the product of personal experience while others focus purely upon materials and processes. However, whether ideas or object based, visual or experiential, the works presented in this exhibition demonstrate that art can be both without boundaries and purposeful, challenging us to think differently about the experiences that constitute everyday life, while at the same time reassuring us that we are not alone in those experiences.
The works exhibited in the 2014 Degree Show perfectly represent the diversity, dynamism and energy that epitomises contemporary art practice. Walk around the studio spaces of the Hanover Building and you will encounter a broad and diverse range of works. You will see art informed by historical and philosophical debate; you will see art that engages with notions of place and time; you will see art that examines the role of technology and media communication in contemporary culture, that asks interesting questions about how we see the world, and that interrogates what we understand art itself to be.
